Within the framework of implementation of the project Business4Climate Plus, the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) organized a networking event/business brunch on the 19th of December 2018, in order to bring together relevant stakeholders from public and private sectors in Cyprus, to present the actions of Business4Climate and Business4Climate+ and discuss about current and future financial schemes for climate and energy projects in SMEs in Cyprus.
The event was attended by representatives from all government departments that deal with energy and climate topics and by the biggest private banks in Cyprus.
The discussion focused on identifying current financial and support schemes provided by the public and private sector to businesses in Cyprus, to finance climate and energy projects, identifying the new financing tools or support schemes that are useful to be developed and the main obstacles and challenges for the development of such schemes.
The Business4Climate + project is funded by the German Climate Initiative Program (EUKI) and the consortium consists of the adelphi Research and the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB). The aim of the project is to develop a road map for financing projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in enterprises, with the ultimate goal of incorporating this charter into the national climate and energy strategy.
