In the framework of the energy and environmental lectures organized by OEB, on Wednesday 21 June 2017, at the headquarters of OEB, the topic “Energy Efficiency: Studies, Planning and Developments” was presented. The guest lecturers were Mrs. Katerina Piripitzi and Mr. Christodoulos Ellinopoullos, Officers in the Energy Service, MECIT and Dr. Theodoros Zachariades, Dean of Faculty of Geotechnical Sciences and Environmental Management of the Cyprus University of Technology.
During the lecture, the following topics were presented:
- Reform of the Energy Efficiency Directive (winter energy package) and the proposal for the regulation on the Governance of the Energy Union
- Baseline and alternative scenarios of final energy consumption in Cyprus until 2020, 2030 and 2050 as well as estimation of the energy saving potentials in residential, commercial and service sectors (Technical Assistance from the European Commission)
- Proposals of the Technical Assistance study on energy efficiency measures and policies
