With reference to the upcoming Presidential Elections which will take place on Sunday, February 5th 2023 and in the event of a repeat election on Sunday, February 12th 2023, the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB) notes the following:
Despite the fact that according to the Electoral Legislation, participation in voting is not compulsory, no voter may be deprived of the right to vote because he/she may be working on election day.
Therefore, OEB calls on employers to make all the necessary arrangements so that all employees on that particular day can go to the polls and exercise their right to vote freely and without interference.
It is noted that voting hours are from 7:00 am. until 6:00 p.m., with a one-hour break from 12:00 p.m. until 13:00.
