The ‘Business4Climate initiative is the strongest national business commitment initiative against climate change, developed by the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) and the Department of the Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment. The aim of this initiative is to involve businesses from all economic sectors of climate action through their voluntary commitment to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by at least 8% by 2030 by providing the necessary tools. So far, 64 companies have signed the Voluntary Commitment for climate and have taken action.
The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), in collaboration with the Energy Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry and the Cyprus Energy Agency, is organizing the first annual award ceremony for businesses participating in the Business4Climate initiative. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, 24th of October 2019 at 18.30 at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation (Andreas Patsalides Lecture Hall), Nicosia.
The event’s purpose is to reward the businesses participating in the Business4Climate initiative and the Energy Efficiency Network in Cyprus distinguished for their efforts to reduce GHG emissions. In practice, 3 companies will be awarded for their excellent GHG emission reduction performance and 1 company for its excellent cooperation with another company in the field of energy saving.
